Arts do not have to uphold only a few stars, and artists should not have to struggle alone.
Artists walk a difficult path in an increasingly aggressive, profit-driven world. But art can be a sustainable and sustaining career choice as long as one cultivates a community that will recognize how it can thrive off of the contributions of artists and will continue to support artists.

It is also one of my missions as an artist is to participate in community. For the past year, I donated art for fundraising events put on by community and non-profit organizations, including Oakland Asian Students Educational Services (OASES), Café Axé Cultural Center, the Jane Kim for San Francisco School Board campaign, Asian & Pacific Islanders For Community Empowerment's (APIFORCE), Creating Opportunities in Vietnam (COVN), and Humanity Through the Arts.
I feel deeply grateful for the support I've received from my community in the SF bay area, and for the opportunities for just being involved in the community. You know who you are, those of you who have shown up to my shows, who've helped me publicize or helped connect me with gigs, who've just been there to deepened my understanding, who've inspired me with your creations, visions, and insights - thank you.
These are a few of the wonderful individuals and organizations that make up my community:
